My Life in Astrology by Sybil Leek
My Life in Astrology by Sybil Leek
Dubbed "Britain’s most famous witch" by the BBC. Sybil Leek rose to media fame in the 1950s after the repeal of the 1735 Witchcraft Act in 1951. She had an effect upon the formation of neopagan witchcraft, namely the religion of Wicca.
This book gives personal accounts of Leek’s involvement in Astrology. She reveals many instances of how the art changed her life and the lives of others who have sought her advice. This definitely is not a "how to learn Astrology" book, but a tool for exploring the philosophy of how the alignment of the planets affect a person's behavior, or social climate in general. Many of the examples of the use of astrology are drawn through many famous people who visited Mrs. Leek throughout her career - clients such as Ian Fleming and H.G. Wells. Astrological influences are detailed during historical events, such as the Second World War as well as the Vietnam War.
